My name is Derek Shehata and I have been designing and developing web sites and web applications since 2000. While earning my degree in Computer Science, I really became interested in the technology and fast paced nature of the internet. Once I stumbled upon the first version of ASP.NET, the .NET Framework and the language C#, I was hooked. The ability to take what I was learning in the object-oriented world of C++ and apply that with great ease into the web world with the .NET Framework set me on the path where I find myself today.
I’ve developed websites large and small, making sure that I keep up with all the latest trends in the web community. Everyday brings the possibility of a new technology that is going to change the way we look at the internet. It’s an exciting time to be in this industry but at the same time it can also be really confusing and hard to keep up with. My idea for this site is to talk about development tips and tricks I’ve come across during my work that could help you out in solving your web development problems. Here you will find discussions about ASP.NET, C#, HTML & CSS (including HTML5 and CSS3 as they evolve and are integrated into our browsers), JavaScript, as well as other web technologies.
When I’m not blogging, I’m designing and developing for an award winning website for a leading educational travel company. Our website has won awards from the W3 Awards, the Interactive Media Awards, the American Design Awards, the Communicator Awards, and the Travel Weekly Magellan Awards.
